Well, here we are family! 2017. We're only two days in, but we're already looking ahead to major life events on the horizon:
Our first home-home! I say 'home-home' because our first home was a 500 sq. ft. apartment in downtown SA, which we moved out of in November. We loved that place. Loved it. But it was too small for a growing baby. We've been living with Granny and Grumpy while we wrap up the loose ends of the buying process. We close this Friday on our lipstick-only Fixer Upper. Will surely write more about that.
Work-aversary & New Witte opens! On January 4th, I will have been at the museum for a year! It's been an amazing ride and I've learned so much and met so many amazing, hardworking humans. In March, the long-awaited opening of New Witte will arrive, and life won't stop moving until the end of Summer. I wouldn't have it any other way.
Our wedding! Charles asked me to marry him on his 33rd birthday. The proposal was a surprise, but the wedding was already planned for this May. My dress was $70, the bridesmaids can wear whatever they want, and we're having pizza for dinner. Keeping it chill. Well. As chill as a 200-guests wedding can be...!
TJ's first birthday! I can't believe it. 5 days after we get married, our little boy will be a whole year old. I remember New Year's a year ago and thinking May was forever away. Now it seems like it will be here tomorrow and I want nothing more but to slow down time.
A trip to Italy! Charles' brother and soon-to-be sister-in-law are also getting married in 2017, but in a much more exciting venue- Italy! Details are still being worked out, but it will be my and (obviously) TJ's first time out of the country. Looking forward to traveling with a 16 month old... Lord, help us!
I've not made any resolutions for 2017. I'm pretty happy with myself these days. We have decided to be more giving with our time this year and hope to volunteer often with Catholic Charities, an organization that works with refugee families. My wish for the year is for my family to continue to be happy and healthy. 2016 taught me that tomorrow is never guaranteed, and if it is, it may not be a bright, sunny day.
Here's to a new year!
